The Fort Lupton Community Foundation has local expertise, led by an Advisory Board with an in-depth understanding of the community needs.The Board is responsible for the strategic direction of the FLCF and makes recommendations which are in the best interests of the citizens of the greater Fort Lupton area.

GWEN CERETTO 

Gwen has been in the Fort Lupton area for 48 years. She has been married to her husband Mike for 40 years.  They have two sons, Corey and Chris. They have a family business, R & M Services, where she does the books. She is also the Church Administrator for the First United Methodist Church of Fort Lupton and Office Administrator for the Law Office of John R. Dent. Gwen has been on the board of the Fort Lupton Community Foundation for six years.  She also serves on many boards for the First United Methodist Church, is Vice President of Hope @ Miracle House, board member of Many Blessing Child Care Board and is on the Trappers Bike & Car Show Committee. Gwen’s most favorite thing to do is to spend time with her family and friends.  She also loves to travel, sing and plan mission trips for her church.

JOHN DENT

John is a native of Colorado and a Brighton High School graduate. He attended Colorado College and Drake University Law School. John is currently a lawyer and has four grown kids. He is a former school Board Member and Aims Community College Board Member. Other community activities include Fort Lupton Chamber of Commerce, Fort Lupton Arts Council, and Fort Lupton Development Corporation. John was an Eagle Scout and enjoys reading, bike riding and the Rocky Mountains.

DIANA HOWARD

 

MARIANN JOHNSTON  

Mariann is the Vice President of the Bank of Colorado Fort Lupton Branch, where she has worked for 17 years specializing mostly in Operations, Compliance and Human Resources.  She has served as the Chairperson of the Fort Lupton Community Foundation for 9 years, serves on the Fort Lupton Chamber of Commerce Board, the Finance Committee of the Fort Lupton First United Methodist Church and together with her husband Gary, has helped manage and run their family bee business Gary Johnston Apiaries, Inc. for the past 40 years.  Mariann is a Fort Lupton native who enjoys spending time with her six grandchildren.

ALAN KAYLOR 

Alan graduated from the University of Colorado-Boulder in 1985 after starting a contracting business the previous year.  Following graduation, he began as a middle school mathematics instructor and assistant football coach. In 1988, Alan married his high school sweetheart and relocated to Southern California.  He held various teaching and coaching positions from 1990-1995 when he accepted a full time Football coaching position at the college level as well as Track and Field Head Coach.  In 1999, Alan returned to school to achieve his Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership. Since that time he has held Administrative or Principal positions at Jefferson County Public Schools, Westminster Public School and Fort Lupton High School.  Alan is currently the Superintendent of Schools for Weld Re-8.

TONY MERRITT  

Tony graduated from Henderson State University in 1989 and opened the first Edward Jones office in Fort Lupton in 2001. He is a current board member of the Fort Lupton Community Foundation, Past President of the Fort Lupton Chamber and Bluedevil Quarterback Club. Tony has two children, Kendra and Jeff. He enjoys traveling, golfing, sports and spending time with friends and his children.

TINA POWELL

Tina is the former President and owner of Gray/Rex Oil where she worked in various jobs over the last 30 years. Tina is now an employee of Rhinehart Oil and serves as Chairman of the Fort Lupton Housing Authority and as a Board Member of the Community Foundation. Tina has been a member of the Fort Lupton community for over 35 years.

DON TOMOI  

Don currently serves as the Market President for Bank of Colorado, a position he has held since 1990.  His professional career began with the Fort Lupton State Bank (now known as Bank of Colorado) in 1983 as a Management Trainee.  Don was born in Scottsbluff, Nebraska to Sam and Anna Tomoi.  He graduated from Mitchell High School (Nebraska) in 1979 and obtained his Bachelors of Science degree from the University of Wyoming in 1983 with a major in Finance.  Don has been married to his wife, Diana, for the past 27 years and they have one daughter, Emily, who is a high school senior.  Don has served on a number of community organizations including the Fort Lupton Chamber of Commerce, Fort Lupton Development Corporation, Fort Lupton Optimist Club, the Fort Lupton Japanese American Citizens League and the Fort Lupton Community Foundation.  Don’s hobbies include golf, gardening and traveling.

ISABEL ZAPIEN

Isabel is a Legal Assistant at John R. Dent, P.C. She is a Colorado native, Fort Lupton High School graduate and University of Denver graduate.  She married her high school sweetheart, Edgar, in 2013 and they keep busy with an energetic toddler named Lina. She enjoys spending weekends with family, reading and cooking. Isabel joined the Fort Lupton Community Foundation in 2014. Other community involvements are Boys and Girls Clubs of Weld County, Fort Lupton Clubhouse, Forlurado and Trappers Days Car and Bike Show Committee.
